À propos de l'événement

"The lanterns are different but the light is the same."

- Rumi

Why do we walk with light and sing together? Why create a child-inclusive celebration for the Prophet’s birthday? The answer is simple: the world desperately needs it. By lighting lanterns in both darkness and daylight, we remind ourselves and our children that we are all carriers of the Light of Muhammad, the Light of the Universe, Divine Love, and Peace. At the moment of his birth, his mother witnessed a light extending from East to West. We gather to honour and connect to this Light, a legacy of love that dispels darkness and reveals our potential when we share love unconditionally.

Every person, young and old, has a share and an ability to access this Light, which radiated even brighter at the moment of the Prophet’s creation, showing humanity the heights we can reach when we embrace and share Love. Though this groundbreaking, peacemaking work may not always be glamorized, it remains profoundly important. This walk is a beautiful ceremonial and symbolic reminder of this.

Join us on Sunday, October 6 for the Rhoda’s annual Eternal Spring Lantern Walk. We will sing, chant, walk, share a meal, and celebrate the Radiant Muhammad, the Light of Humanity. Please bring your lanterns, your love, your children, and your friends, and a celebration season dessert for the shared meal. May you always radiate the Light within.
