Sameena Khan invites you to a winter wonderland day retreat for women at the Rockland mussalla this February to enjoy the following program:
Sunday, Feb 18, 2024
9-9:30 AM - Arrival in the Rockland Musalla. Welcome from Sister Sameena and Sister Sarah. Refreshments with Tea, Coffee & Muffins (courtesy of Sister Nuzhat Sami from Sunlife Financial).
9:30 AM - Sister Jessica leads an Ice Breaker Activity in the Musalla.
10:15 AM - Sister Sameena invites all to get ready with boots (and snowshoes* - those who bring them) and head outside.
10:30 AM - Outside, Sister Sarah shares a 5-minute Teaching on "Presence”. Sister Sarah guides the Snowshoe Trek for those bring/wear snowshoes. Sister Jessica guides the Winter Wonderland Walk for those who wear boots.
11:30 AM - At Musalla, put away gear, wash up for Lunch and Dhuhr Prayer
12:15 PM - Pizza & Salad Lunch (courtesy of Sister Iman from Spartas Pizza)
12:45 PM - Dhuhr Prayer
1 PM - Sister Jessica facilitates Group Reflections
1:15 PM - Sister Sameena invites all to get ready and head out for Ice Fishing.
1:30 - 3:30 PM - Ice Fishing Workshop on the Ottawa River with Pro Fisherman Brother Sherif Awad, Owner of the "Ottawa Ice Fishing" company! Your perfect chance to learn and attempt an ancient winter survival sport with modern tools! Gain fishing skills and knowledge about local fish with a pro! (No fishing licence needed as today is licence-free in Ontario). (Thanks to Brother Sherif and Top Rides Auto).
3:30 PM - Wash up for Asr Prayer and put gear away
3:45 PM - Asr Prayer
4 PM - Potluck Snacks (courtesy of everyone - thank you all!)
4:15 PM - Sister Sarah’s reflections on Wellness and facilitated group discussion
5 PM - Departure with Words of Thanks from Sister Jessica and Sister Sameena
(Note that Maghrib time is 5:30pm approximately)
