Program Elements

Join us for this panel discussion at the Rhoda Masjid with Brother Muhammad Jaffer and Shaykh Hamdi Ben Aissa.  It has been a yearly tradition for us to invite a speaker from the Shi'a community at the end of the month of Muharram to commemorate together the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein. This year we will be focusing on the beautiful personality of Imam Hussain and the great legacy he left for all humanity on the path of spiritual development.  Our speakers, from both the Shi'a and Sunni community, will be sharing some insights about the life, the personality, and the story of the grandson of the beloved prophet. May God continue to nourish his soul and our connection to him.

Who are our speakers?

Shaykh Hamdi Ben Aissa

Is the founder and visionary of many non-profit organizations and projects in Canada and France, including the Rhoda Foundation, The Rhoda Masjid, Ha-Mim Institute, and Centre Educatif Floraison. His goal is to facilitate the art of personal development while demonstrating the universality and accessibility of the teachings of different universal spiritual traditions and those of Islam in the first place.

He has worked in community building and dedicated the past 2 decades of his life to helping others realize their reality as human beings with authenticity, with the awareness that a being awakened to their purest and deepest reality will necessarily be able to clearly recognize the path of what truly defines them.

Brother Muhammad Jaffer from Toronto has worked with the community over the past 35 years in motivating, inspiring, and teaching many of our fellow sisters and brothers around the world.

He has been very active in uniting and caring for all through teaching, running schools, interfaith programs, and camps for over 35+ years.

He is also a director of Wise Learning Academy in both Canada and the US and a director of Camp TAHA - Michigan & the Tawheed Institute.
